Quick Strobist Home Shoot

Ok so progress has been slow here but hopefully I'll get into the swing of this blogging lark!
For now here's a quick slot on a simple strobist style shoot done in my attic with the help of a wonderful assistant, my daughter, who as you'll see is really getting into this herself!

Ok so not being able to get out and try out some new brolleys finally drove me mad and I decided to see if I could do a quick shoot at home.
The model and assistant chosen for this was my own daughter and as you can see , a fantastic model she proved to be.

The setup was quite simple, a single Nikon SB800 in manual at 1/4 power with Cactus V2s trigger attached to a lastolite clamp with Elinchrom Shoot Thru white umbrella.
The Umbrella was kept to within 1 foot of the face to the right of the camera at roughy 90 degrees to the model. A second Sigma DG500 flash on full power was used to blow out the background to give the hi-key effect leaving the speedlight in the brolley to pick up the detail in the shot. A small amount of cloning was done in the post processing to remove imperfections in the background but other than that very little was done to process the shot.

And as a bonus shot, here you can see how my daughter got her own back on me by making me pose while she took to the camera herself to take a few shots!
