Nearly all shots were done using flash and brolleys. Even a touch or gels in places for effect.
Read on to see what the result of 2 hours with Emma produced...
Above is one of my favourite images from the shoot with Emma and was such a simple shot.
There was some natural light but not enough to keep shutter speed up and so a small bit of flash was called for. For this little bit of fill flash I wanted a nice even light with as few shadows as possible and so I opted for my trusty SB 800 and white shoot thru umbrella again but this time it was kept on full power and at about 7ft high angled down towards the model who was at least 8ft from the light.
A simple 50mm f1.8 lens was used and nothing other than a small amount of sharpening and levels adjustments to produce the above image. Sometimes simple is best.

The next shot is again a simple enough shot however a splash of blue from a Honl gel was use in the backgound just to add a little more colour to the shot and contrast with the red dress
While I quite like the above shot, its not technically perfect and the shadows could have been better controlled but I still like it myself!
Again, the SB800 and shoot thru umbrella was used and was kept to 1/2 power and quite close to the models face to camera left, again at roughly 90 degrees to the model.
The blue gel was attached to a Sigma DG500 on full power just to give that small bit of kick to the backgound and the gels I have been using are Honl speedlight gels as they are quick and easy to use thanks to the way they attach to your speedlight using velcro strips on the gels and the speedstrap that Honl use for a wide variety of flash modifiers.
The last of my favourites from the day is again a simple shot with the SB800 on 1/4 power and white brolley again quite close to the models face to camera left.
The vigneting and tones were added in Lightroom simply by using a preset which there are lots of available to download for free across the web!
The result is this image below
Again I have to thank Emma for giving up her time to come on this shoot and allowing me to capture these great images.
