My First Images Of 2011

Ok so after a grey morning on 1st Jan this year I decided not to head out for a sunrise as I thought it was just too grey and boring. However the next day on the 2nd of Jan I decided along

with some camera club friends to head out into the grey morning and see if we could make something of the sunrise.
Yet again another flat dull morning where the day just slowly got bright and no real sunrise to speak of. That said, a colour cast from my cokin filters produced a colour on my shots that I would normally not be happy with but I felt this time it added to the otherwise greyness of the morning.

 The purple hue in this shot unfortunately caused by stacking 2 cokin filters on the lens , created a nice feel to this image which I liked and felt that a square crop added to it.

Here's another 2 images from the morning which i was happy with. More to be processed but happy with the results so far.

All of the above images were shot with a Nikon D300 with Sigma 17-70 lens with Cokin P Series ND and ND Grad filters.
